Advocacy Outcomes Framework
Calling local authority commissioners….
Partners in Care and Health are developing resources for councils about advocacy services.  They are interested in speaking to councils with experience using the Advocacy Outcomes Framework and/or the associated Toolkit in council areas to measure the outcomes achieved by locally commissioned advocacy services (statutory or non-statutory advocacy).  If you have experience and would be interested in sharing it, please email hilary.paxton@local.gov.uk to arrange a discussion.

Advocacy Awareness Week
We are getting started with our planning for this year’s Advocacy Awareness Week. Do you want to let us know what you thought of last year’s advocacy awareness week? Let us know by completing this form here. If you’d like to be a part of shaping this year’s campaign theme and resources, you can also register using the same form. Our first discussion is on Teams on Tuesday, 9 July 2024, 11.30am-12.30pm.

Network of Advocacy Providers
There are some changes happening at the leaders in advocacy network! Many of you will know that Jonathan Senker from VoiceAbility has been hosting and chairing the advocacy leaders’ network since its inception in 2020.  After four years, he has decided to step down, and the network is now working to shape how it will run in the future.
For those of you that don’t know, the network is for senior leaders working in advocacy providers of all shapes and sizes, statutory and non-statutory advocacy, large and small.  The network has been a space to come together to stay up to date with key policy developments, discuss issues impacting the advocacy sector and to pull together joint responses to key consultations etc.  Moving forward the network plans:
– To draw together national, mid-sized and smaller advocacy organisations in order to build connections and create a shared platform for resources best practice and create a network of experts.
 – To have a strategic identity that takes feedback from advocacy in action to inform and improve the quality and accessibility of advocacy and have a shared understanding of sector developments.
 – To collate data to underpin campaigns.
 – To be a recognised representative organisation to lobby for improvements across the spectrum of advocacy and drive-up standards.
– To share knowledge and intelligence about national-level policy and practice to better understand the broad picture of advocacy to inform commissioning and national policy and improve funding.
 – To share knowledge and intelligence of local issues impacting on the accessibility and availability of independent advocacy
 – To remain inclusive of all types of advocacy and all sizes of organisation

Now is a great time to have your say in the future of the network – if you would like to join or to find out more, please contact Gail at advocacy@ndti.org.uk and we will find the best person for you to speak to. The network is free to join and meets monthly, via Teams.
